Jackfruit or chakka is a seasonal fruit .Its only available during  a specific season september through december.Jackfruit is my moms and my brothers favourite fruit.But i dont like to ate this fruit tooo much.We dont have a jackfruit plant.So we collect this from our moms home .This jackfruit is of two types varikka chakka and koozha chakka .
                  Jackfruit is the main ingredient of the recipe.Its a simple upperi .Its a faourite food item of all malayalis.Try the steps to make the spicy  recipe and add more garlic to avoid any kind of gas troubles.


  1. Chakkakuru
  2. Cardamom
  3. Chilly powder
  4. Curry leaves
  5. Green chilly
  6. Salt
  7. Turmeric powder
  8. Small onions
  9. Garlic paste
  10. Oil

Steps of making

  • Take a cooker and add chakkakuru ,Turmeric powder,Salt and cook for 3 whistle.
  • Take a pan andput some oil first then  add chopped  small onions,Garlic paste ,Green chilly and  stir well.Also add curry leaves .
  • Put the chakakuru we prepared before into this pan and mix all ingredients well.Your chakakuru upperi is ready now .
