Ingredients

  1. Tomato-1
  2. Coriander Leaves
  3. Salt-2tsp
  4. Curry Leaves
  5. Green Chillies-3
  6. Garlic Paste
  7. Ginger Paste
  8. Turmeric Powder-2tsp
  9. Coriander Powder-3tsp
  10. Pepper Powder-3tsP
  11. Water-1glass
  12. Tamarind pulp
  13. Mustard
  14. Red chillies-2

Steps of making

  • Hot a pan  and add some oil .
  • At first put some mustard and allow them to cracke.
  • Next add the paste of garlic and ginger   into this and stir well.
  • Add the sliced tomatos into this and again stir well.
  • Also add half sliced green chillies  into this and add some coriander and curry leaves.
  • Close the pan using its cover and cook for 5 minutes .
  • Open the cover and the spices coriander powder,turmeric powder,pepper powder and salt.
  • Finally add the tamarind pulp imto this and add 1 glass of water .thn  mix the whole ingredients .Add the remaining coriander leaves and curry leaves into this and close the pan and cook for 5 more minutes .
  •  Move into a bowl and serve the hot rasam and have with your favourite food .

Kerala kumbalanga olan curry 

This is an olan recipe White gourd is the main ingredient of this recipe.Olan is one of the needful dish to complete the ona sadhya . Its a simple and tasty dish everyone can  prepare. Only few time required to make this olan recipe .Its made with white gourd ,coconut milk and its quite difference in its colour. Its being different from other onam recipes due to its white creamy colour . The coconut milk gives it the mild creamy colour. 
This recipe contains only few ingredients.You can add pumpkin and cowpeas if   required. here it use mainly two items that is white gourd and coconut milk.cooking the white gourd and adding the coconut milk is the steps required to make in short words.read the recipe and make it your own by give a try.

Ingredients

  1. White gourd
  2. Curry leaves
  3. Coconut milk
  4. Salt
  5. Water
  6. Oil
  7. Green chilly

Steps of making

  • Slice the white gourd in small size .
  • Hot some water in a pan with  the sliced white gourd , green chillies  and pinch of salt .Then cook for about 5 minutes .
  • Add the coconut milk into this and again cook til the whole ingredients  become mixed.
  • After that Pour some oil on it and put some curry leaves into it.

Naadan Kaalan recipe

        Kaalan is a naadan kerala traditional food item.Its mainly contain vegetables coconut and yogurt coontents.Its normally yellow in colour.The Yogurt and the salt give the accurate taste  of the kaalan recipe.Its a main dish in onam sadhya . Try the simple easy kaalan recipe give below.

Ingredients

  1. Raw banana (ethakka)
  2. Elephant foot  yam (chena)
  3. Mustard
  4. Turmeric powder
  5. Salt
  6. Red chillies
  7. Grated coconut
  8. Cumin seeds
  9. Yogurt
  10. Curry leaves
  11. Ghee
  12. Green chilly
  13. Fenugreek seed
Steps of making

  • Take a pressure cooker and add the Raw banana , elephant foot yam and turmeric powder with  required amount of water .Then pressure cook this for  2 whistles.
  • After cook vegetables open the pressure cooker and take out them into a pan  along with the water contained . Add the salt and ghee into this. 
  • Next step is adding the yogurt . Mix the whole ingredients very well.When the yogurt  mixed gravy becomes thicky  ,add the grated coconut grinded with green chilly and cumin seeds.
  • Add the fenugreek grinded into this and stir the whole mixture.
  • Final processing is to hot an another  pan and put some oil and  add some mustard and crackle them .Then add  some red chillies and curry leaves into this and put this whole thngs into the  other pan  and serve into a bowl .

Aviyal is  a south indian recipe that originated in kerala.Vegetables commonly used in avial are elephant yam, plantain, pumpkin, carrots, beans, brinjal,cucumber, drum sticks, snake gourd and avarai. Carrots, beans etc.Avial is considered an essential part of the sadya, the Keralite vegetarian feast.

Steps Of Making 

  • Take a cooker and add two spoon  water  and add the vegetables chopped into this .Then add required amount of  turmeric powder and salt  and cook for one whistle .
  • Take out the vegetables in to a plate and next step is making the mix.
  • Take a blender and add grated coconut ,small onions and green chilly then blend for 5 minutes .
  • Then  add the coconut mix into the vegtables cooked and add some yogurt and  oil and mix well using a spoon .Garnish  it with curry leaves and red chillies .

Steps of making

  • At first cut the vegetables in required size and shape .
  • Then take bowl and put the tamarind in water for tamarind pulp.
  • Take a cooker and add the  all vegetables and add some salt ,water,turmeric powder,chilly powder,coriander powder and lentil/dal then close the cooker and cook in low flame for one whistle.
  • open the cap of cooker and add some sambar powder , tamarind pulp and cook in low flame .
  • Then hot a pan add some oil and add some mustard ,fenugreek,red chilly and stirr them and put this into the sambar .this process is called 'thoomikkal'.
  • Take a bowl and decorate  with curryleaves and serve.
