Fish biriyani recipe,biriyani,fish,recipe.malabari  biriyani

Ingredients 

  1. Rice-1 1/2  cup
  2. Fish-1 kg
  3. Water-2 cup
  4. Garlic paste -1/2 cup
  5. Ginger paste-1/2 cup
  6. Tomato-500g
  7. Green chillies-1/2 cup
  8. Onion-1 1/2 kg
  9. Curd-3tbsp
  10. Lemon juice-3 lemon
  11. Cashew nut
  12. Raisins
  13. Salt-2tsp
  14. Chilly powder-2tsp
  15. Pepper powder-4tsp
  16. Turmeric powder-2tsp
  17. Coriander powder-3tsp
  18. Garam masala-3tsp
  19. Mint&Coriander leaves
  20. Curry leaves
  21. Ghee-500g

Method

  • Cut and wash the fish.
  • Add chilly powder ,turmeric powder,ginger garlic paste,lemon juice and required amount of salt into the fish and marinate well.
  • Fry them in hot oil in low flame and keep aside.
  • Heat a biriyani pot and add 500g of ghee into this.
  • Then when the ghee melt Add 1.5kg of onions into it .stir well til the onion turns a golden in colour.
  • Add 500g of tomato into this and again stir well.
  • Sprinkle required amount of salt into it and mix the ingredients well.
  • Add  1/2 cup of garlic paste and ginger paste and  mix well.
  • Add 1/2 cup of green chillies into this and stir well.
  • Next step is adding the powders.First add 1 spoon of turmeric powder ,2 spoon of garam masala, 2 spoon of coriander powder , 1 spoon of  chilli powder, 1 spoon of black pepper powder and gently add 1cup of curd into this and mix well.
  • Add  the mint ,coriander leaves  and add chopped curry leaves .Then add more  salt into this again after checking your salt level.Then mix the all ingredients together .
  • Add 1kg of fried  fish into the prepared masala  and mix the all ingredients together. 
  • Wash and rinse the rice with water .
  • Boil 3 litre of water in a pot and add 3 spoon of turmeric powder(only if required more yellow colour).Add  rice into this boiled water.When the rice done drain the excess water contained in the rice .
  • Add lemon juice into the masala and add the rice into the  chicken masala .Garnish with mint and coriander leaves. Add some cinnamon over it and cover the pot for 15 minutes and add some fire above the cover of the pot this process is called 'dum process'.make sure that there is no flame  under the  pot.
  • After opening the cover ,mix the rice and chicken masala together and serve the hot tasty yummy malabar fish dum biriyani.Garnish with cashew nuts,raisins and fried onions.
